Knit – Research Director

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI research technology client in their search for a Research Director. Our client has built a platform that helps enterprise brands conduct consumer research more efficiently. This is a remote position supporting Fortune 500 accounts across various industries.

As Research Director, you will own customer research relationships and ensure clients achieve their desired outcomes. You'll serve as both a strategic research consultant and the final quality check on all deliverables, directly presenting insights to customer stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the dedicated research lead for assigned customer accounts, owning end-to-end project success
• Drive in-depth project scoping calls to understand research objectives and business context
• Act as strategic problem solver and research subject matter expert, proposing solutions to client needs
• Educate customers on platform capabilities and consult on custom research requirements
• Maintain comprehensive customer context documentation to improve service delivery
• Review and approve all final research deliverables before customer presentation
• Present key insights and recommendations directly to client stakeholders
• Collect feedback on post-delivery requirements to support product development
• Manage direct reports including performance management, hiring, onboarding, and team development
• Contribute to customer retention and expansion measured by Net Revenue Retention

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 8+ years of market research experience, with majority spent supplier-side at a market research agency
• Proven experience leading discovery calls, writing quant and qual questionnaires from scratch, drafting analysis plans, and creating stakeholder-ready topline reports and presentations
• Track record owning client relationships with Enterprise and Fortune 500 US-based companies, specifically working with insights professionals
• Demonstrated success achieving customer retention and growth in research consulting roles
• Ability to drive outcomes in ambiguous environments and navigate complex customer needs
• Strong capability managing competing priorities and multiple simultaneous research projects
• Effective people management experience including performance management, hiring, onboarding, conflict resolution, and team accountability

Preferred:

• Experience successfully operating in early-stage startup environments (under 50 employees)
