Independent Contractor (Spanish/English) Transcription/Translation

About This Opportunity

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential transcription services organization seeking bilingual Spanish/English transcriptionists and translators. This is an independent contractor position based remotely in Spain. You'll work from home creating accurate text documents from audio, video, typed, and handwritten materials covering diverse subject matter including oral histories, focus groups, corporate reports, webinars, educational content, and more.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe and translate audio, video, and written materials from Spanish to English and English to Spanish
• Produce high-quality transcripts that meet archival standards for historical records
• Follow client-specific style guidelines and project instructions precisely
• Verify names, terms, and references through brief internet research
• Deliver completed files on deadline consistently
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all project materials

What We're Looking For

• U.S. Citizens or U.S. Resident Aliens (must qualify under IRS Form W-9 requirements)
• Native or near-native fluency in both Spanish and English
• Minimum typing speed of 80 words per minute with 98% accuracy
• Strong command of grammar, style, and punctuation in both languages
• Broad educational background or diverse interests to handle varied subject matter
• Reliable high-speed internet connection
• Private email address for confidential communications
• Ability to deliver documents in.doc format (Microsoft Word, Open Office, or equivalent)
• Recommended: transcription software (such as ExpressScribe) with foot pedal and quality headphones
