HR Operations Specialist, Nordics

We are representing a confidential international HR technology client seeking an HR Operations Specialist with Nordic expertise. Our talent team is searching for a compliance-focused professional who thrives on solving complex employment challenges and delivering exceptional service in a remote-first, multi-country environment.

This role places you at the center of employment operations across the Nordics and broader European markets. You'll partner with clients to navigate people-related matters, guide employees through critical lifecycle moments, and ensure seamless HR operations across multiple jurisdictions. You'll collaborate with legal, payroll, finance, product teams, and external partners while maintaining a customer-centric, compliant, and efficient approach.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR advisor for assigned countries (primarily Nordic markets), managing complex employment matters throughout the employee lifecycle
• Act as a trusted point of contact for both clients and employees on employment-related questions and key events
• Ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations by providing expert guidance, maintaining country-specific processes, and identifying risks
• Deliver high-quality employee and client experiences by resolving HR queries and providing practical, business-focused solutions
• Drive operational excellence through continuous process improvement, standardization, and optimization of HR procedures across multiple entities
• Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, payroll, finance, product, and external partners to ensure seamless HR service delivery
• Support reporting, audits, HR administration, knowledge management, and strategic projects contributing to business growth

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in HR Operations, Employee Lifecycle Management, HR Advisory, or similar client-facing HR roles
• Strong working knowledge of Nordic employment law and HR practices
• Ability to confidently advise on employee lifecycle matters, compliance requirements, and employment-related risks
• Proven ability to balance customer needs, compliance requirements, and business objectives in fast-paced international environments
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and project management skills
• Fluent English required; Swedish, Danish, Finnish, or Norwegian is a strong plus

Preferred experience:

• Background in employer of record, global mobility, payroll, or international HR environments
• Experience supporting multinational clients across multiple jurisdictions
• Familiarity with HRIS platforms and process improvement initiatives
• Additional European language skills and extended Nordic employment law knowledge
