Hospice Caregiver – Ridgefield, CT

A Place at Home Fairfield South is hiring a compassionate Hospice Caregiver to provide dignified, comfort-focused care to clients in Ridgefield, CT and the surrounding South Norwalk area. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Operations, where you'll make a meaningful difference during one of life's most important chapters.

About the Role

As a Hospice Caregiver with A Place at Home Fairfield South, you'll deliver hands-on personal care and emotional support to individuals receiving end-of-life hospice services. You'll work closely with families and the care team to honor each client's wishes while providing comfort, compassion, and practical assistance. This role requires both clinical attention and deep empathy—you'll be trusted to respect the dignity and preferences of every person in your care.

What You'll Do

• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and activities of daily living in a respectful, person-centered manner
• Provide physical comfort measures and support pain management strategies as directed by the care plan
• Offer companionship and emotional presence, listening and responding with patience and kindness
• Monitor and report changes in condition, comfort level, or mood to the care team
• Support family members by answering questions and providing reassurance during this sensitive time
• Maintain clean, safe living spaces and assist with light housekeeping as needed
• Respect and follow all care instructions and plans developed with the client and family

What We're Looking For

• Genuine compassion and ability to provide care with respect, patience, and cultural sensitivity
• Reliability and strong communication skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a care team
• Physical capability to provide hands-on personal care assistance
• Flexibility and calm demeanor in emotionally complex situations
• High school diploma or equivalent; prior caregiving or healthcare experience is valued
