Head of Wholesale Energy Supply

Meta is recruiting a strategic energy leader to serve as Head of Wholesale Energy Supply at our Grandview Heights facility in Franklin County. You will champion Meta's approach to securing reliable, competitive power for global data center operations, managing electricity sourcing across competitive and regulated utility markets.

Position Summary

In this leadership role at Meta, you will own the strategy and execution for sourcing wholesale electricity at scale. Your decisions and partnerships directly enable the power-hungry data center infrastructure that supports Meta's global platforms. You will navigate both competitive and regulated energy markets, build supplier partnerships, and coordinate across internal teams—operations, finance, sustainability, and facilities—to deliver the stable, cost-effective power supply our infrastructure requires.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Shape and refine sourcing strategies for wholesale electricity across competitive and regulated utility regions
• Lead contracting efforts with energy producers, market operators, and utilities to lock in multi-year capacity agreements and favorable rates
• Track shifts in energy markets, regulatory developments, and power costs to identify procurement opportunities and manage risks
• Build and oversee the team executing day-to-day wholesale energy supply operations
• Partner with data center operations, finance, and sustainability stakeholders to align energy sourcing with business objectives
• Identify and mitigate supply disruptions, price volatility, and market timing exposure

Requirements

• Substantial background in energy sourcing, electricity markets, or power sector leadership roles
• Fluency in how competitive (deregulated) and regulated electricity markets operate across the United States
• Track record closing large, multi-year power contracts and supplier arrangements at enterprise scale
• Strong quantitative and financial acumen to model energy costs, evaluate market dynamics, and drive returns
• Experience building and leading teams through periods of growth and operational complexity
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, economics, environmental studies, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills with executives, vendors, and regulatory partners
