Director of Strategic Projects

Meta is hiring a Director of Strategic Projects to lead the development of our global data center portfolio in Five Points, Wake County. In this full-time role, you'll drive strategic initiatives that support Meta's vision for AI infrastructure and worldwide operations.

What This Role Involves

As Director of Strategic Projects, you'll oversee the planning, development, and execution of major capital initiatives across Meta's global data center footprint. This is a leadership position focused on translating corporate strategy into actionable, large-scale infrastructure projects that advance our AI capabilities and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Lead cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and develop new data center sites and expansions aligned with strategic objectives
• Develop comprehensive project plans and timelines for major portfolio initiatives, from feasibility assessment through completion
• Collaborate with finance, engineering, real estate, and operations teams to manage complex multi-year programs
• Drive financial and business case development for capital projects, including ROI analysis and risk assessment
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including external partners, government entities, and internal leadership
• Monitor market trends and technology developments to inform data center strategy and long-term planning

Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in project management, corporate strategy, real estate development, or related leadership roles
• Proven track record managing large-scale, capital-intensive projects or programs
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Strategic thinking and ability to align tactical execution with corporate objectives
• Experience in technology infrastructure, real estate, or related industries preferred
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, real estate, finance, or related field
