Global Fleet Manager – Tire Testing Operations

Continental is seeking a Global Fleet Manager for our Tire Testing Operations based in Lousado, Braga, Portugal. In this full-time role, you'll oversee the management and coordination of our fleet used in comprehensive tire testing programmes, ensuring operational excellence and safety compliance across all testing initiatives.

About the Role

As Global Fleet Manager for Tire Testing Operations, you'll be at the heart of Continental's testing infrastructure. This position is pivotal to supporting our research and development efforts by managing a dynamic fleet of vehicles dedicated to rigorous tire performance testing. You'll work across departments to ensure testing schedules are met, vehicles are optimally maintained, and all operations adhere to Continental's high safety and quality standards. Your leadership will help drive continuous improvement of our testing capabilities and contribute directly to product innovation.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Oversee daily fleet operations and maintenance schedules for testing vehicles, ensuring availability and optimal condition
• Coordinate with testing teams to allocate resources and schedule vehicle deployment for tire testing programmes
• Monitor vehicle performance data, fuel efficiency, and maintenance records to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Manage inventory of spare parts, equipment, and testing materials required for operations
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and Continental's operational policies
• Prepare reports on fleet utilisation, costs, and operational metrics for senior management
• Liaise with external vendors and service providers for vehicle maintenance and support
• Lead and mentor operational staff to maintain high performance standards

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience in fleet management, logistics, or transportation operations
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and automotive systems
• Proficiency with fleet management software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional projects
• Understanding of tire technology and testing procedures is advantageous
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments
• Commitment to safety compliance and attention to operational detail
