Genomics Researcher – Fully Remote | Upto $100/hr

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI research organization seeking a highly skilled computational genomics specialist for a contract engagement. This is a fully remote position based in France, offering 15–20 hours per week of challenging research work designing evaluation problems for advanced AI systems.

Our client operates at the intersection of artificial intelligence and computational biology, focusing on pushing the boundaries of what AI can accomplish in scientific domains.

Responsibilities

• Design complex computational problems to evaluate AI system capabilities using real scientific software and workflows
• Create test cases requiring advanced knowledge of single-cell analysis, RNA velocity, spatial transcriptomics, and topological data analysis tools
• Evaluate and iteratively refine problem designs through testing loops against state-of-the-art AI models
• Develop scenarios that require strategic experimental planning and data exploration techniques
• Work independently to incorporate feedback and continuously improve problem quality and AI model assessment

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate-level training in computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, or a related STEM field (Master's, PhD, or equivalent research experience)
• Demonstrated expertise with scientific Python libraries through published research or professional contributions
• Strong Python programming skills, including the ability to write problem setups and solution validation code
• Ability to work independently and refine designs based on iterative feedback
• Comfortable working in Linux/Unix terminal environments with remote computational resources

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expertise across multiple domains within computational genomics or experience with diverse analytical tools
• Background in benchmark design, evaluation frameworks, or assessment methodology
• Experience in scientific teaching, curriculum development, or creating problem sets for technical training
• Familiarity with computational reproducibility practices and containerized workflow environments
