Forward Deployed Engineer (all genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology consulting organization that is building a specialized team focused on production AI systems. This is a founding team role where you will take complete ownership of AI initiatives from initial concept through live deployment with measurable business impact.

Our client works primarily with enterprise organizations in heavily regulated industries. Unlike traditional consulting engagements that stop at strategy or begin with a finished specification, this team maintains ownership throughout the entire lifecycle. You will work directly with C-level stakeholders and drive technical decisions at the executive level.

This position is available in Hamburg, München, Düsseldorf, or remote within Germany.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical delivery of AI solutions end-to-end, from initial strategy conversations through production deployment
• Build agentic systems, RAG pipelines, and LLM integrations within enterprise environments
• Leverage agentic coding tools as part of your daily engineering workflow to accelerate development, code reviews, and deployment automation
• Participate from the earliest ideation stages rather than receiving finalized specifications, enabling you to influence strategic and commercial outcomes
• Maintain accountability until solutions are live and delivering measurable business value—no handoffs to other teams
• Present and defend technical decisions directly to senior executives without intermediaries
• Work regularly on-site with clients as initiatives require

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience deploying LLM-based systems to production, ideally in a Forward-Deployed Engineer or Founding Engineer capacity
• Production-grade Python expertise including FastAPI, containerization, Git, and CI/CD practices
• Deep understanding of agentic architectures, retrieval methods, and function calling patterns
• Proven track record using agentic coding tools as a core engineering practice, including for building deployment pipelines
• Direct experience owning and defending technical decisions in front of C-level executives
• Founder or product-oriented mindset with ownership mentality extending beyond task execution
• German language proficiency at C1 level or above
• Full professional proficiency in English
• Completed degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, Business Informatics, or comparable field (Bachelor's or higher)
• Willingness to travel and work on-site with clients regularly
• Ideally, experience in one or more regulated industries: Financial Services, Transportation & Logistics, Energy & Utilities, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Public Sector, Automotive, or Defence
• Ability to quickly understand and operate effectively in new, often highly regulated business environments
