About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential food technology client in their search for a Field-Based Business Development Representative with Mandarin language skills. This role covers Greater London North and East England, including territories such as Colchester, Chelmsford, Aylesbury, Norwich, and Ipswich. You'll focus on building partnerships within the Chinese restaurant sector, working autonomously in the field to expand marketplace selection and drive regional growth.

Responsibilities

• Map, prospect, pitch, and close high-value Chinese restaurant partnerships across assigned territories to expand local marketplace selection
• Engage directly with independent restaurant owners in Mandarin or Cantonese through physical visits, phone calls, and social platforms to demonstrate commercial value
• Manage the end-to-end partner onboarding process to ensure a fast, efficient, and seamless experience for new partners
• Support and monitor new restaurant performance within their first eight weeks on the platform to maximize long-term success
• Build deep insight into the regional Asian culinary scene by traveling across London and surrounding areas including Oxford, Cambridge, and Norwich to identify key brands
• Execute strategic business development initiatives that drive performance across the Chinese restaurant category

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

• Fluency in Chinese Mandarin with the ability to negotiate and build professional commercial partnerships
• Proven sales experience with a track record of actively acquiring new business and consistently delivering against demanding commercial targets
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to handle negotiations, understand marketplace economics, and structure profitable deals
• Self-motivated and tenacious approach with the ability to work independently and spend significant time in the field meeting prospects
• Valid and current right to work in the United Kingdom

Desirable Qualifications:

• Professional command or working knowledge of Cantonese
• Valid UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle to facilitate travel across surrounding regions
