Facilities Assistant III – Grounds

About the Role

As a Facilities Assistant III focused on grounds maintenance, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of our campus's exterior areas. This position plays a vital role in preserving the appearance, safety, and functionality of college grounds throughout the Pinal County location. You'll work independently and collaboratively with the facilities team to ensure outdoor spaces meet college standards and provide a welcoming environment for the entire college community.

Responsibilities

• Maintain walkways, pathways, and common outdoor areas to ensure safety and accessibility for campus users
• Care for athletic fields and recreational spaces, including mowing, edging, and field preparation
• Trim and prune landscaping features and vegetation surrounding college buildings
• Remove debris, leaves, and seasonal waste from grounds and exterior surfaces
• Operate and maintain grounds-keeping equipment and tools according to safety standards
• Respond to weather conditions by performing seasonal tasks such as snow removal or debris cleanup
• Monitor exterior building areas and grounds for maintenance needs; report issues to supervisors
• Follow all safety protocols and college facility guidelines while performing outdoor work

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or similar outdoor facility work
• Ability to safely operate common grounds-keeping equipment and tools
• Physical capability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
• Dependable attendance and ability to work a full-time schedule
• Team-oriented work approach with ability to take direction and work independently as needed
• Valid driver's license preferred for campus mobility
