Executive Director of Data Strategy

Racetrac is hiring an Executive Director of Data Strategy in Atlanta, GA. This is a full-time role based at 200 Galleria Parkway SE Suite 900, where you'll lead the enterprise data vision and execution that shapes business strategy and competitive advantage.

Position Summary

As Executive Director of Data Strategy at Racetrac, you'll own the development and implementation of a comprehensive data strategy that spans technology, governance, and organizational capability. You'll translate business objectives into actionable data initiatives, drive enterprise-wide adoption of analytics and insights, and build teams and infrastructure that unlock value from data across the organization. Reporting at the executive level, this role partners closely with senior leadership to ensure data becomes a strategic asset driving growth, efficiency, and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a long-term data strategy aligned with corporate business objectives
• Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of data platforms, analytics infrastructure, and governance frameworks
• Build, mentor, and manage high-performing teams of data engineers, analysts, scientists, and architects
• Identify and prioritize high-impact data and analytics opportunities across business units
• Establish data governance policies, standards, and best practices to ensure data quality, security, and compliance
• Lead cross-functional collaboration between IT, business, finance, and operations to embed analytics into decision-making
• Budget, forecast, and optimize spending on data infrastructure, tools, and talent
• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantage in data capabilities

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive experience in data strategy, analytics, business intelligence, or related fields
• 10+ years in executive leadership or senior management roles
• Demonstrated success building and scaling data teams and organizations
• Deep expertise in data architecture, cloud platforms, modern BI tools, and data governance
• Strong business acumen and ability to connect technical strategy to revenue, profit, and operational outcomes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels
• Track record of driving large-scale transformation and change initiatives
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, business, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred
