Excise Tax-Senior

EY is seeking a Senior Excise Tax professional to join our EDGE practice in West Miami, Miami-Dade County. This full-time position offers an opportunity to specialize in excise tax advisory and compliance for some of the nation's leading organizations.

Role Overview

As an Excise Tax-Senior at EY, you'll work within a specialized tax practice delivering advanced advisory services to corporate clients navigating complex federal and state excise tax obligations. You'll take on leadership responsibilities, managing client engagements, leading technical analysis, and helping organizations optimize their excise tax positions across multiple industries and regulatory environments.

Core Duties

• Advise clients on excise tax compliance, reporting requirements, and strategic planning across federal and state jurisdictions
• Conduct in-depth excise tax analysis, perform calculations for various product categories, and address sector-specific obligations
• Lead client engagements, manage project scope and deliverables, and mentor junior team members
• Monitor excise tax regulatory changes and communicate guidance to clients and internal stakeholders
• Support clients with tax audit preparation, documentation, response drafting, and representation matters
• Develop tax optimization strategies tailored to client business models, operational structures, and industry dynamics

What You Bring

• CPA or advanced tax credential (or equivalent professional qualification)
• Significant professional experience in federal and state excise tax compliance, advisory, or technical roles
• Strong technical knowledge of excise tax law, IRS regulations, and the evolving regulatory landscape
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex client engagements and lead multi-disciplinary project teams
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical tax concepts for diverse client audiences
• Strong professional judgment, analytical rigor, and commitment to accuracy and compliance standards
