Endpoint Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential international humanitarian organization in their search for an Endpoint Engineer based in Costa Rica. Our client operates globally with a mission-driven focus, and this role will support critical IT infrastructure serving teams across nearly 100 countries.

As an Endpoint Engineer, you will maintain, monitor, and support enterprise-level IT systems and infrastructure. You'll lead multiple projects while providing technical guidance to systems administrators, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of computing platforms that support thousands of users worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize systems operating environments including servers, storage, and backup solutions
• Administer enterprise technologies including Windows, Linux, VMware, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
• Lead short- and long-term project planning efforts, developing cost and time estimates
• Manage user access controls, security applications, and system backups to ensure a secure and highly available environment
• Perform routine maintenance tasks including backups, patch management, and hot fixes
• Monitor system health, capacity, and performance; provide recommendations for optimization
• Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and basic network issues
• Coordinate problem resolution, document issues, and manage systemic problem tracking
• Support 24/7 operations and lead disaster recovery efforts
• Administer Storage Area Network (SAN) and archival activities
• Ensure compliance with security requirements, policies, and Service Level Agreements
• Provide coaching and technical guidance to team members
• Maintain technical documentation and configuration plans

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience administering enterprise-level servers and IT infrastructure
• At least 5+ years designing, configuring, deploying, and optimizing server hardware and operating environments
• 5-7 years of progressive IT experience with focus on endpoint systems and enterprise computing platforms
• Strong expertise with Windows, Linux, VMware, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
• Experience with capacity planning, performance monitoring, and availability analysis
• Proven troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong customer service orientation and proactive problem-solving approach
• Ability to work with distributed global teams
