Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential autonomous technology organization seeking an Emergency Services Liaison to establish and maintain strategic partnerships with German emergency responders in Munich. In this hybrid role, you will:
- Build and sustain trusted relationships with local emergency services (Polizei, Feuerwehr, Rettungsdienst), positioning our client as a transparent and collaborative partner committed to first responder safety
- Recruit, train, and manage Emergency Services Ambassadors who serve as local subject matter experts and advocates within the responder community
- Design and continuously improve familiarization programs that ensure responders can confidently and safely interact with autonomous vehicle technology
- Represent our client at industry conferences and panels, serving as a bridge between emergency services and emerging transportation technology
- Establish feedback channels that capture critical insights from responders and translate them into actionable engineering and operational improvements
- Coordinate internal alignment across engineering, operations, and legal teams to ensure responsiveness to evolving emergency services needs
- Travel domestically and internationally approximately 20% of the time
What We're Looking For
Required qualifications:
- 15+ years of service in German emergency services (Polizei, Feuerwehr, or Rettungsdienst)
- Deep knowledge of German legal frameworks including Datenschutz/GDPR, Rettungskette, emergency protocols, and community engagement strategies
- Proven track record building relationships with major emergency services organizations across Germany, with strong understanding of the cultural nuances and operational sensitivities within German emergency services communities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in both German and English, with ability to engage diverse audiences from tactical to strategic levels
- Leadership capability to motivate and develop teams while maintaining excellence across all program areas
- Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including legal, engineering, and operations
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results under competing pressures while keeping programs on track and meeting deadlines consistently
Preferred qualifications:
- At least 7 years in a leadership or management position within German emergency services, with proven inter-agency collaboration experience
- Experience establishing organizational presence in new geographic markets and operating in rapidly scaling environments
- Familiarity with autonomous vehicle technology and its implications for emergency response operations
- Track record of emergency management policy development
- Significant public speaking and stakeholder engagement experience
