Engaged is seeking a Full-Time Emergency Planning Coordinator in Moberly Lake, CA, with a salary range of $75,000–$85,000 per year. The Opportunity

This leadership position focuses on emergency preparedness and community resilience. You'll oversee the development and maintenance of emergency management programs, conduct risk assessments, coordinate training exercises, and ensure the community is equipped with the knowledge and resources needed to respond effectively to emergencies. Your work will directly enhance confidence in our collective ability to manage crises through rigorous planning, education, and preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Emergency Management Manager with budget development, workplans, and implementation timelines
  • Design and deliver community education programs on emergency preparedness, response, and recovery
  • Expand emergency management capacity through partnerships with neighboring communities and organizations
  • Manage contracts with training specialists, exercise coordinators, and emergency supply vendors
  • Conduct annual hazard and risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and prepare evacuation plans
  • Coordinate public awareness campaigns, training sessions, and Emergency Operations Center facility establishment
  • Serve as primary contact for the community and provincial authorities regarding emergency plan implementation
  • Maintain and upgrade emergency management program resources and documentation
  • Identify emergency resources and funding, and oversee procurement and tracking of emergency equipment and supplies
  • Design and facilitate training exercises for Emergency Operations Center teams and Emergency Support Services personnel
  • Build and maintain relationships with regional and provincial government agencies, businesses, and industry partners
  • Support and develop volunteer emergency management programs
  • Organize post-incident debriefs and integrate lessons learned into updated emergency plans and procedures
  • Research and coordinate funding applications for emergency management projects from various sources

Skills & Qualifications

  • Certificate in Emergency Management, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of direct emergency management experience, preferably with First Nations or Indigenous organizations
  • Demonstrated expertise in emergency operations, incident command, preparedness, response, and recovery
  • Proven ability to develop and sustain partnerships with government agencies, private organizations, and community groups
  • Knowledge of local government operations, geography, climate, history, and community resources
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of First Nations or Indigenous community culture, traditions, and history
  • Clear Criminal Record Check
