General Motors is hiring an Electrician Journeyperson to join the skilled trades team at our Parma Metal Center facility in Doylestown, Wayne County. This full-time position offers the opportunity to apply your electrical expertise in a dynamic manufacturing environment while working with cutting-edge equipment and systems.
About the Role
As an Electrician Journeyperson at General Motors' Parma Metal Center, you'll perform specialized electrical work across our facility, maintaining and advancing our production capabilities. Working with minimal direct oversight, you'll take ownership of complex electrical challenges while contributing to operational reliability and safety across the plant.
What You'll Do
- Perform layout, installation, and setup of electrical systems and equipment in manufacturing environments
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical malfunctions in control systems and industrial equipment
- Execute preventative maintenance programs on electrical circuits, motors, and related machinery
- Test circuits and components using appropriate diagnostic and measurement equipment
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
- Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards and GM safety protocols
- Document completed work and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Collaborate with maintenance teams and production staff to minimize downtime
What We're Looking For
- Valid journeyperson electrician license or equivalent certification
- Demonstrated expertise troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems
- Proficiency with electrical hand tools, test equipment, and diagnostic instruments
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, circuit design, and control systems
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
