This full-time, day-shift position offers the opportunity to provide direct patient care in a modern healthcare facility dedicated to mental health and behavioral services.
About the Role
Northwest Specialty Hospital, located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno, has expanded its behavioral health services with a new dedicated facility. As a CNA on our Behavioral Health Unit, you'll be an essential member of the nursing team, delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to adults receiving mental health treatment.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct assistance with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor and report vital signs, vital observations, and patient status changes to nursing staff
- Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients
- Support nursing staff in delivering medical care and treatment protocols
- Assist with patient ambulation, positioning, and comfort measures
- Communicate with patients and families with empathy and professionalism
- Document patient care activities accurately
- Respond promptly to patient requests and alarms
What We're Looking For
- Current CNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- CPR certification (preferred)
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Strong communication skills and empathy for patients with behavioral health needs
- Physical ability to assist patients and perform patient care duties
- Reliability and professional demeanor in a healthcare setting
