About the Role

As a Tool Maker at General Motors, you'll take ownership of complex tooling operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What You'll Do

• Build and fabricate dies and tools using multiple materials and advanced machining techniques
• Repair and restore worn or damaged tooling to restore functionality and extend service life
• Remodel existing dies and tooling to meet updated manufacturing specifications and requirements
• Maintain dies, fixtures, and tooling equipment to ensure reliable performance and minimize downtime
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately
• Conduct quality inspections and testing to verify precision and fit standards
• Follow established safety procedures and OSHA standards in all work activities
• Collaborate with other skilled trades professionals and production teams to support manufacturing operations

What We're Looking For

• Journeyperson-level experience as a Tool Maker, Die Maker, or related skilled trade
• Proficiency in operating precision machinery and hand tools
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings and specifications
• Strong understanding of materials, tolerances, and fabrication methods
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and OSHA compliance
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
