Director of Safety & Training

SpartanX, a growing solar energy company, is hiring a Director of Safety & Training to establish and manage comprehensive safety and professional development programs for our expanding operations in Remote. This full-time leadership position offers significant opportunity to shape workplace culture while building strong, knowledgeable teams across construction, service, and operations divisions.

What This Role Involves

You'll lead SpartanX's complete safety infrastructure and workforce development strategy, ensuring every employee has the knowledge, skills, and resources to perform their role safely and professionally. Your leadership will create a culture where risk management is proactive rather than reactive, and where ongoing development is standard practice. You'll work closely with operations, construction, service, and leadership teams to align safety practices across all areas of the business.

Core Duties

• Establish and maintain organization-wide safety protocols that meet OSHA standards and industry requirements
• Perform systematic site evaluations, facility inspections, and field observations to identify hazards and improvement opportunities
• Examine workplace incidents, potential hazards, and safety concerns to determine root causes and implement solutions
• Create and track safety metrics, documentation, and compliance records required by regulations and company policy
• Build structured onboarding and job-specific training for installers, electricians, field technicians, office staff, inspectors, and service teams
• Create and deliver management training programs focused on leadership capabilities and safety accountability
• Oversee employee certification programs and organize professional development in relevant areas
• Establish training and safety protocols that scale as SpartanX enters new geographic markets
• Hire, coach, and supervise the safety and training team, establishing clear goals and performance standards
• Brief executive leadership on safety performance, training outcomes, and organizational priorities

What We're Looking For

• Executive-level background managing safety operations in construction, electrical, or solar industries
• Strong foundation in OSHA standards, regulatory compliance, and workplace safety methodology
• Demonstrated success creating and rolling out employee training curricula
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop people across management levels
• Expertise in safety auditing and investigating workplace incidents
• Exceptional written and verbal communication with the ability to present to diverse audiences
• Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office and training management platforms
• OSHA 30 certification (minimum); OSHA 500 or Outreach Trainer certification is preferred
• Academic background in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Business, or comparable field preferred
• Background managing safety across multiple locations or regional operations preferred
