About This Position

This is project-based contract work — not permanent employment — that leverages your compliance expertise to build, test, and document regulatory scenarios. During active project phases, expect approximately 10–20 hours per week, though this varies with project scope and is not a guaranteed workload. You'll work on discrete assignments that require deep regulatory knowledge and citation precision, contributing to the development of compliance testing frameworks used to evaluate AI systems across financial crimes, regulatory affairs, and financial services domains. Contributors on this contract can earn up to $50 per hour equivalent, with rates varying based on expertise level and contribution pace.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Create and assess rule-application scenarios by analyzing compliance documents against specific regulations, identifying applicable subsections with exact citation precision;
• Prepare sanctions alert cases including structured reasoning for false-positive determinations and escalation protocols;
• Design compliance test scenarios: define populations, construct test methodologies, document findings, and draft examiner-ready summary memoranda;
• Identify policy coverage gaps where internal procedures fail to address regulatory mandates, conflict with requirements, or require updating for recent regulatory changes;
• Maintain rigorous citation discipline throughout all documentation, referencing specific regulatory provisions without approximation or guesswork.

What You Bring

• A qualification in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent discipline;
• Minimum two years' professional experience in compliance, internal audit, legal practice, risk management, or financial services;
• Active or recent hands-on experience in regulatory compliance, financial crime prevention, or related specializations;
• Proven ability to identify the precise regulatory subsection that applies and openly acknowledge where certainty is lacking rather than estimating;
• Professional-level English writing proficiency (C1 or above);
• Beneficial: CRCM, CAMS, or equivalent local credentials; background as a financial regulator or examiner.
