About the Role
As Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, you'll lead our enterprise-wide development efforts focused on cultivating major gifts from corporations and private foundations. This role sits at the intersection of strategic fundraising and relationship management, requiring you to develop and execute comprehensive partnership strategies that advance Buckner International's programs and impact.
What You'll Do
- Oversee all aspects of corporate and foundation relations, from prospect identification through stewardship and renewal
- Build and maintain high-level relationships with corporate executives, foundation directors, and key decision-makers
- Develop proposal strategies and lead the creation of compelling funding requests aligned with foundation priorities and corporate giving objectives
- Create annual fundraising plans that identify new funding opportunities and expand existing corporate and foundation partnerships
- Manage pipeline development and track metrics that demonstrate program growth and return on investment
- Collaborate with program teams to ensure funder impact reporting and documentation of outcomes
- Represent Buckner International at industry conferences, networking events, and community forums
- Mentor and support development team members in corporate and foundation relationship-building
What We're Looking For
- Proven leadership experience in major gifts, corporate relations, or foundation fundraising—ideally managing seven-figure portfolios
- Deep knowledge of foundation research, due diligence, and grant strategy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to craft compelling funding narratives
- Demonstrated success building authentic relationships and closing significant gifts
- Strategic thinker who can identify partnership opportunities and develop long-term giving strategies
- Comfort with CRM systems and fundraising analytics
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent fundraising experience considered
