About the Role
As an Escrow Officer with First American in California, you will serve as the neutral party who manages and coordinates real estate escrow transactions from opening to funding. Working within our Direct division — which delivers title insurance protection and settlement services for purchases, refinances, and equity loans — you will keep every file moving, compliant, and on schedule. This is a full-time, on-site position based in California.
Key Responsibilities
- Open, manage, and close escrow files for residential and commercial real estate transactions.
- Review purchase agreements, lender instructions, and title commitments to ensure conditions are met.
- Prepare settlement statements, disburse funds, and coordinate document signings.
- Communicate clearly with buyers, sellers, lenders, agents, and title professionals throughout each transaction.
- Maintain accurate records and uphold all regulatory and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as an Escrow Officer or in a closely related escrow or settlement role.
- Strong working knowledge of title insurance, escrow procedures, and real estate documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Confident communication and customer-service abilities across multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to manage several transactions simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
