Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough DRG audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with coding standards
  • Review medical records and documentation to validate assigned diagnosis-related groups
  • Identify coding discrepancies and provide detailed feedback to clinical teams
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and support proper code assignment
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICD-10, MS-DRG guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to audit accuracy metrics
  • Travel occasionally (up to 10% per year) for team meetings and limited onsite client engagements

What We're Looking For

  • Extensive experience as a DRG auditor with proven expertise in MS-DRG methodology
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, medical terminology, and reimbursement systems
  • Professional certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC strongly preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate complex coding concepts clearly to clinical and administrative staff
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment
  • Proficiency with coding software and electronic health record systems
  • Must be based in the United States and eligible to work without sponsorship

Note: A brief coding and auditing assessment may be included as part of the interview process.
