DevOps Engineer (PH)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential gaming technology client seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their Philippines-based team. This is a fully remote position requiring at least 6 hours of daily overlap with Australian Eastern Time (AEST/AEDT).

In this role, you'll split your focus between development (approximately 80%) and operational responsibilities (20%). You'll work within a small agile team to build, scale, and maintain critical platform infrastructure.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Writing code to improve platform scalability, reliability, and performance
• Contributing unit tests and participating in peer code reviews
• Building, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for automated releases
• Ensuring operational readiness including monitoring, performance tuning, and disaster recovery planning
• Driving adoption of DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, and infrastructure as code
• Continuously improving system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
• Collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Support teams to ensure production readiness

What We're Looking For

Our client requires candidates with 3–5 years of experience in DevOps or Software Development roles. The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell or similar scripting languages
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code practices and tools
• Experience working with virtualized, containerized, or distributed environments
• Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar)
• Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments

Location requirement: Must be based in the Philippines with the ability to work fully remote. At least 6 hours of daily overlap with Australian Eastern Time Zone is required, with flexible working hours outside that overlap period.
