Development Accountant

Quadreal seeks a Development Accountant to join our team in Vancouver. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting the financial management of our development projects in British Columbia.

Position Summary

As a Development Accountant at Quadreal, you'll play a key role in tracking, recording, and reporting on the financial activities of our real estate development initiatives. You'll work alongside project managers and senior finance professionals, ensuring accurate accounting practices and timely financial reporting that support project profitability and decision-making at every phase of development.

Your Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile development project costs, including acquisition, construction, and soft costs
• Prepare and maintain detailed project accounting records and cost tracking reports
• Post journal entries and process transactions related to project revenue and expenses
• Assist in month-end and period-end closing procedures for development projects
• Verify invoices, manage accounts payable processes, and support billing and collections activities
• Prepare financial reports and reconciliations for internal stakeholders and auditors
• Support budget analysis and variance reporting for active developments

What You Bring

• A relevant accounting credential or equivalent professional accounting experience
• Strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel for data analysis and reporting
• Solid understanding of cost accounting and project accounting practices
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and reconciliation
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Experience working in development or construction accounting is an asset
