Deputy Sheriff – Jailer

About the Role

As a Deputy Sheriff-Jailer with Ozaukee County, you're a sworn law enforcement officer assigned to our Jail Division. You'll perform critical custody and administrative functions that keep our facility operating safely and effectively, from intake procedures to daily facility operations.

What You'll Do

• Process incoming inmates, including booking, fingerprinting, and photographing
• Maintain supervision of inmates in the facility to ensure security and safety
• Document activities and maintain comprehensive written and computerized records
• Prepare case materials and assist with court proceedings as assigned
• Conduct facility inspections and monitor compliance with regulations
• Respond to emergencies and security incidents with professionalism and sound judgment

What We're Looking For

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to accurate record-keeping
• Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays as needed
