Hoyle, Tanner and Associates is looking for a technically driven Project Engineer to join its Aviation Services department at the Yarmouth, ME office — a full-time opportunity to shape airport infrastructure across New England and Florida.
About the Role
As a Project Engineer at Hoyle, Tanner and Associates in Yarmouth, Cumberland County, you will take a hands-on role in the planning and engineering design of airports ranging from small general aviation facilities to large commercial installations. Beyond design work, this position carries a mentorship dimension — you will guide and develop entry-level engineers, sharing your expertise as they build their careers in aviation engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to aviation engineering design projects for airports of varying scale throughout the New England region and Florida
- Apply technical knowledge to solve complex airfield engineering challenges
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, helping to build team capability
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications
- Background in civil or aviation engineering with demonstrated project engineering experience
- Familiarity with airport design standards and airfield infrastructure
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present technical material clearly
- Enthusiasm for mentoring and knowledge-sharing with less experienced colleagues
