The Deputy Practice Leader, Federal role is designed for an experienced leader ready to shape the future of Halff's federal contracting practice. You'll work at the intersection of strategic planning, business development, and technical excellence—building the relationships, capturing the opportunities, and executing the vision that fuels our federal market presence. This position offers meaningful influence over practice direction and growth trajectory while working closely with senior leadership and a dedicated team.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Partner with the Federal Practice Leader to establish and communicate practice strategy, vision, and growth objectives
- Support and lead business development initiatives targeting federal agencies and programs
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key federal government contacts and stakeholders
- Oversee and contribute to capture planning and proposal efforts for federal contracts and opportunities
- Implement practice-wide technical and operational strategies that position Halff competitively in the federal market
- Identify market opportunities and develop strategies to support sustainable practice growth
- Collaborate across teams to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction on federal projects
Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a federal contracting, consulting, or engineering environment
- Deep knowledge of federal government contracting processes, compliance requirements, and procurement cycles
- Strong business development and relationship-building capabilities
- Strategic planning and practice management experience
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Technical background or familiarity with engineering, consulting, or related services valued
