Waitstaff (Casual Evenings 4pm-8pm)

The Bristal Assisted Living is hiring a Waitstaff member for casual evening shifts (4pm–8pm) at our East Meadow, Nassau County community. This is a full-time position dedicated to creating warm, attentive dining experiences for our residents and their guests.

About the Role

As part of our dining team, you'll play a key role in making mealtimes memorable and dignified for our senior residents. You'll manage assigned dining stations, coordinate with kitchen staff, and ensure every resident feels welcomed and well cared for throughout their meal.

What You'll Do

• Review your assigned station and complete setup and side work before service begins
• Welcome all residents and guests with genuine warmth and attentiveness
• Assist residents to their tables and provide support with mobility aids, including walkers, as needed
• Distribute and collect menus, answer questions about available options, and suggest dishes tailored to individual dietary needs
• Accurately take meal orders while remaining alert to dietary restrictions and preferences
• Coordinate with the kitchen on proper plating and portion sizes for each resident
• Monitor resident satisfaction throughout the meal and respond to any requests promptly

What We're Looking For

• Experience or demonstrated interest in food service and hospitality
• Patience and compassion working with older adults in an assisted living environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to remember individual preferences
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift trays, and move throughout the dining room
• Attention to detail regarding dietary accommodations and portion control
• A calm, professional demeanor under typical service pressure
• Reliability and willingness to be part of a team
