Principal Industrial Designer, Devices & Services Experience Design (DxD) team

Join Amazon's Industrial Design organization as a Principal Industrial Designer on our Devices & Services Experience Design team in Seattle. This is a full-time, on-site role leading the industrial design strategy for next-generation consumer devices and accessories.

As a Principal Industrial Designer, you'll lead design vision and execution for innovative hardware and consumer devices. You'll work alongside engineers, product managers, and scientists in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your expertise shapes physical products from concept through manufacturing.

What You'll Do

• Direct industrial design strategy, aesthetic direction, and form language for device families and platforms
• Partner with engineering and cross-functional teams to solve complex design and technical challenges
• Translate customer insights into compelling, manufacturable products that balance form, function, and cost
• Lead design critiques, mentoring junior designers and driving design excellence across the organization
• Manage design-to-manufacturing transitions, ensuring design intent is preserved through production
• Develop prototypes, design narratives, and visual communications that articulate product vision
• Influence product roadmap decisions with data-informed design recommendations

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of professional industrial design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in consumer electronics or device design
• Proven track record leading design for products in production or market
• Deep knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and design-for-manufacturability principles
• Exceptional visual communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate design rationale to diverse audiences
• Experience working in cross-functional teams with engineers, product, and business stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
• Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
