Deputy Court Clerk

City of Burleson, TX is seeking a Deputy Court Clerk to join our Municipal Court team in Burleson, Johnson County. This full-time position is central to ensuring the efficient and accurate operation of our local court system.

Role Overview

The Deputy Court Clerk serves a vital administrative and quasi-judicial function within the City of Burleson's Municipal Court. You will be the backbone of court operations, managing everything from case documentation and financial transactions to public-facing service delivery. This role demands precision, integrity, and the ability to balance detailed administrative work with genuine customer service in a public-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and maintain accurate records of all court proceedings, filings, and case documentation
• Handle cash collections and financial transactions with meticulous attention to detail
• Accept, process, and file complaints and court documents in compliance with local procedures
• Assist in scheduling court hearings and managing the court calendar
• Provide courteous and professional customer service to the public, attorneys, and court staff
• Coordinate activities between court operations and the general public
• Perform data entry and maintain court records in both physical and digital systems
• Support the Judge and court administration with clerical and administrative tasks

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Demonstrated experience in a clerical, administrative, or customer service role
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Cash handling experience is preferred
• Prior court or legal experience is a plus but not required
