Deli Clerk

Brookshire Grocery Company is hiring a Deli Clerk for our store in Columbia, Caldwell Parish. This part-time role offers an excellent opportunity to join a growing regional grocery chain while developing valuable retail and food service skills in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

As a Deli Clerk at Brookshire Grocery Company, you'll deliver quality customer service while managing daily deli operations. You'll work directly with customers, maintain department standards, and ensure our deli case stays fully stocked with quality products.

What You'll Do

• Slice and package deli meats, cheeses, and prepared foods to customer specifications
• Take customer orders, answer questions about products, and process transactions accurately
• Maintain a clean, organized deli counter and display cases following food safety protocols
• Stock shelves and cases with fresh inventory throughout your shift
• Operate deli equipment safely and follow all company and health department guidelines
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure smooth operations

What We're Looking For

• Reliable, dependable, and customer-focused with a positive attitude
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks like lifting and moving products
• Basic math skills and comfort working a cash register or point-of-sale system
• Willingness to follow food safety and sanitation standards
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior deli or customer service experience is a plus
