Role Overview
We're looking for a Data Engineer to join our team in Knutsford, England. In this role, you'll design, develop, and optimise the data pipelines and systems that support our business intelligence, analytics, and product decisions. You'll work with large datasets, ensure data quality and reliability, and collaborate across engineering, product, and analytics teams to unlock insights that drive our platform forward.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources
- Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using modern data tools and technologies
- Collaborate with data analysts, product managers, and engineers to understand data requirements and deliver solutions
- Monitor data pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise for speed and cost efficiency
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across all systems
- Write clean, documented code and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of data practices
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data infrastructure role
- Strong proficiency with SQL and data querying languages
- Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, or Go
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and their data services
- Understanding of data warehouse and data lake concepts and architectures
- Experience with ETL tools and data orchestration platforms is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
