Credit Analyst II – Consumer & Retail Vertical

About the Role

As a Credit Analyst II, you'll serve as a vital partner to Portfolio Managers, bringing analytical rigor and sound judgment to the evaluation and monitoring of credit relationships. You'll develop deeper technical expertise while helping Fifth Third maintain the highest standards of credit quality and risk management across the consumer and retail sectors.

What You'll Do

• Work alongside Portfolio Managers to analyze credit applications and support underwriting recommendations for consumer and retail borrowers
• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including review of statements, cash flow assessment, and debt capacity evaluation
• Monitor existing credit relationships to identify emerging risks and recommend proactive management actions
• Prepare detailed credit analyses and reports for risk committees and senior management
• Apply credit policy and regulatory requirements to ensure consistency and compliance across the portfolio
• Contribute to portfolio performance reviews and participate in credit process improvements

What We're Looking For

• 1–3 years of credit analysis, underwriting, or credit risk experience in banking or financial services
• Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling with strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Solid knowledge of credit fundamentals, financial statement analysis, and key credit metrics
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative, dynamic environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
