Fifth Third Bank, N.A. is seeking a full-time Credit Analyst - Financial Institutions to join our team in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County. In this role, you'll evaluate credit risk, analyze financial statements, and support the underwriting process for institutional borrowers while developing deeper expertise in credit markets and banking fundamentals.
About the Role
As a Credit Analyst - Financial Institutions, you'll be at the intersection of finance and relationship management. You'll own key analytical responsibilities that directly shape lending decisions and portfolio quality. This is a hands-on role where your attention to detail and analytical rigor protect the bank's interests while enabling business growth with qualified institutional clients.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and review credit memoranda, financial analysis, and loan documentation for institutional lending opportunities
- Evaluate borrower creditworthiness through detailed analysis of financial statements, cash flow projections, and industry trends
- Assess credit risk and identify potential concerns or opportunities within proposed credit facilities
- Support loan structuring, pricing, and terms negotiations with institutional clients
- Monitor credit quality within assigned portfolio and flag emerging issues or covenant compliance matters
- Conduct due diligence on borrowers and guarantee structures to ensure loan documentation accuracy
- Collaborate with relationship managers, loan officers, and senior credit personnel to support underwriting decisions
- Maintain organized credit files and ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with proficiency in Excel
- Ability to interpret financial statements and assess business risk
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client-facing and internal reporting
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Interest in credit markets and financial institutions lending
- Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
