About the Role
As Counsel, Intellectual Property at Insulet Corporation, you will help protect and grow the IP portfolio that underpins the Omnipod® Insulin Management System and other groundbreaking technologies. Working on-site in a hybrid arrangement from either Acton, Massachusetts or San Diego, California, you will partner closely with engineering, product, and business teams to align legal strategy with the company's mission of simplifying life for people with diabetes.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on intellectual property matters spanning patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and related rights.
- Support the development, management, and defense of Insulet's growing IP portfolio.
- Collaborate with research, engineering, and commercial stakeholders to identify and protect new innovations.
- Evaluate competitive and freedom-to-operate considerations tied to medical device products.
- Provide practical legal guidance that balances risk with business objectives.
Qualifications
- A law degree (J.D.) and active license to practice in good standing.
- Demonstrated experience in intellectual property law, ideally within the medical device, life sciences, or technology sectors.
- Strong understanding of patent and trademark prosecution and portfolio management.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid capacity from Acton, MA or San Diego, CA.
