Minnesota Service Cooperatives is seeking a dedicated On-Call Float Health Associate to provide essential health services to students with special education needs across Dakota County school locations. In this full-time position, you'll serve as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse supporting student wellness and health accommodations in a dynamic, collaborative school environment.
About the Role
This on-call float position offers flexibility and variety as you deliver health care across multiple school sites within Intermediate School District 917. You'll be a responsive member of the health team, managing student health needs, coordinating with special education staff, and ensuring compliance with individualized health plans. The role requires availability to fill shifts on short notice and the ability to transition seamlessly between different school settings and student populations.
What You'll Do
- Administer medications and monitor student health status according to physician orders and school health protocols
- Develop and implement health care plans for students with special needs, including those with chronic conditions and complex medical requirements
- Assess health concerns, respond to medical emergencies, and coordinate with families and medical professionals as needed
- Maintain accurate health records and communicate with special education teams to support student learning and safety
- Educate students, staff, and families on health management and accommodation strategies
- Work flexibly across assigned Dakota County school locations, adapting to varied student populations and school environments
What We're Looking For
- Current Minnesota licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Experience or strong knowledge in pediatric health care and special education support
- Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and organized in fast-paced school health settings
- Strong communication skills with students, families, educators, and health professionals
- Flexibility and reliability for on-call scheduling and coverage across multiple sites
