Cost Analyst

Position Summary

This Cost Analyst role centers on transforming financial and operational data into actionable insights for military leadership. You'll tackle complex cost structures, model financial scenarios, and deliver rigorous analyses that inform multi-million-dollar budget and procurement decisions. Working with defense clients who depend on accurate cost intelligence, you'll combine financial acumen with statistical reasoning to evaluate spending efficiency and identify savings opportunities across defense programs.

Core Duties

• Gather, validate, and synthesize cost and financial data from diverse military and operational sources
• Construct detailed cost analysis models and forecasting frameworks to simulate budget scenarios
• Execute cost-benefit analyses and cost-effectiveness studies to guide strategic acquisition and operational decisions
• Identify cost-savings opportunities and present findings to senior military and civilian leadership
• Support lifecycle cost assessments for major defense programs and equipment acquisitions
• Prepare presentations and written reports translating complex financial findings for non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, statistics, and quantitative research
• Proficiency with cost modeling, data analysis tools, and spreadsheet-based financial applications
• Ability to interpret complex financial and operational datasets and extract meaningful conclusions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills suited to both technical and executive audiences
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or related field
• Active U.S. security clearance or eligibility to obtain one
