Controller / Senior Controller (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential media organization seeking a Controller / Senior Controller to strengthen their finance operations with data-driven insights and actionable recommendations.

This role goes beyond traditional reporting. You'll take ownership of strategic analyses while managing day-to-day operational finance tasks. Your responsibilities include:

• Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes
• Contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and planning cycles
• Conducting variance analyses and performance evaluations
• Independently identifying, gathering, and preparing relevant data and KPIs in close collaboration with functional departments
• Creating and maintaining reports, dashboards, and management presentations
• Analyzing revenue, cost, and performance metrics
• Supporting executive leadership with ad-hoc analyses and business evaluations
• Participating in cross-functional projects focused on digitalization and automation of finance and controlling processes
• Collaborating closely with Finance, HR, Sales, and Marketing teams

What We're Looking For

• Successfully completed degree in Business Administration, Finance, Controlling, Economics, or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in controlling, FP&A, finance, accounting, or similar environment
• Structured and meticulous work approach with strong oversight of complex data and situations
• Genuine interest in understanding business relationships and supporting data-based decisions
• Advanced Excel skills and enthusiasm for BI tools, automation, and data-driven processes
• Curiosity, willingness to learn, and motivation for professional and personal development
• Initiative and readiness to take ownership of projects
• Strong team spirit with pragmatic, solution-oriented working style
• Excellent German language skills, written and spoken (minimum C1 level)
