Contract Software Engineer (Golang)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology consultancy seeking a Contract Software Engineer with strong Golang expertise. In this role, you will join a client team building innovative digital products and backend services. You'll design and implement scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant architectures while working in a fast-paced engineering environment. Your work will focus on developing and maintaining APIs, backend services, and distributed systems using modern cloud infrastructure. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, communicate technical concepts effectively to business stakeholders, and deliver high-quality solutions that create lasting value.

What We're Looking For

• Strong backend engineering experience with Go as a primary or preferred language
• Proven ability working in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience building and maintaining APIs and backend services, including SaaS platforms
• Familiarity with modern infrastructure and distributed systems
• Solid understanding of modern deployment practices, including Docker, containers, and Kubernetes
• Strong background in testing strategies, including TDD, across the full system lifecycle with a focus on performance optimization
• Experience using AI tools to augment your work and increase engineering impact
• Self-motivated and proactive approach to continuous improvement
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to explain technical concepts in business-friendly language
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in team-oriented, collaborative environments

Contract Details: 6-month initial contract with potential for extension. Hybrid work arrangement requiring 1-2 days per week in London.
