Cloud & Fleet Data Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential aerospace technology organization based in Wessling, Germany. Our client operates at the intersection of hardware systems, real-time operations, and cloud infrastructure—building products that generate massive amounts of mission-critical data in the field.

We're searching for a Cloud & Fleet Data Engineer who can design and maintain the data backbone connecting distributed devices, engineering teams, and operational systems. You'll own the systems that turn raw telemetry, logs, and sensor streams into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud services that serve as the authoritative source for device identity, software versions, configurations, and system health across the fleet
• Build secure backend services and APIs that connect field hardware with internal support and engineering platforms
• Develop resilient communication workflows for devices operating in environments with intermittent or limited connectivity
• Automate ingestion and processing of flight logs, telemetry data, video feeds, and sensor outputs
• Create data pipelines, monitoring dashboards, and alerting systems that enable rapid troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
• Correlate operational data with software versions, hardware configurations, and mission parameters to support continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

You don't need to check every box—we value strong fundamentals, practical experience, and a sense of ownership over perfect résumés.

• Hands-on experience in cloud engineering, backend development, data platform work, IoT systems, or distributed systems
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, or similar languages
• Working knowledge of APIs, relational and NoSQL databases, object storage, message queues, or ETL/data pipeline frameworks
• Familiarity with telemetry systems, observability tooling, monitoring infrastructure, or connected-device platforms
• Ability to transform incomplete or noisy data into reliable services and fast operational answers
• Comfortable working in English in a technical, international environment
