About the Role
We're hiring experienced Class A CDL drivers to manage long-haul freight operations across the United States. As an over-the-road driver with U.S. Xpress, you'll operate a dry van unit on dedicated long-distance routes, working as a solo driver or as part of a two-person team depending on your experience and preference.
What You'll Do
- Operate your Class A commercial vehicle safely and professionally across interstate highways
- Complete assigned freight deliveries while maintaining company standards and DOT compliance
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and address maintenance concerns
- Manage logbooks and freight documentation with accuracy and timeliness
- Coordinate with dispatch regarding routes, delivery schedules, and load updates
Compensation for Class A CDL Drivers
We offer competitive pay structures designed to reward your experience and performance:
- Solo Drivers: Earn 56–60 cents per mile based on experience, with an average of 2,000 miles per week. You'll receive a guaranteed minimum of $1,400 per week on a 12-days-out/2-days-home schedule, plus a $2,000 sign-on bonus. Top-performing drivers in the 80th percentile earn $1,650 or more weekly.
- Team Drivers: Partner with a co-driver and earn $0.72–$0.80 per mile (split compensation). Team operations average 5,000 miles per week, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus split between partners.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Minimum 1–5 months of professional driving experience
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and commitment to safety
- Ability to work extended routes on a 12-out/2-home rotation
