About the Role
This is a full-time, over-the-road truck driving position operating dry van equipment across the United States. You'll average 2,000 miles per week as a solo driver or up to 5,000 miles per week as part of a team. Our schedule includes 12 days out on the road followed by 2 days home, providing predictability and work-life balance.
What You'll Do
- Operate commercial trucks safely and professionally on regional and long-distance routes
- Maintain compliance with Department of Transportation regulations and company safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure on-time, damage-free delivery of freight
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers
- Keep detailed logs and documentation of driving hours and vehicle conditions
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record
- 1 to 5 months of commercial truck driving experience
- Strong knowledge of safe driving practices and hours-of-service regulations
- Professional attitude and commitment to company safety standards
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly
Why U.S. Xpress - OTR
U.S. Xpress - OTR offers truck drivers competitive compensation ranging from 56 to 60 cents per mile for solo drivers, based on your experience level. Team drivers earn 72 to 80 cents per mile split. We provide a $2,000 sign-on bonus for solo drivers and $5,000 for teams, plus a guaranteed weekly minimum of $1,400 for solo drivers. Top performing drivers earn up to $1,650 per week. This is structured, predictable pay that rewards your skills and dedication.
