About the Role

As a Claims Examiner for Sedgwick, you'll be instrumental in guiding injured workers through the claims process, working with employers, medical providers, and claimants to ensure fair, accurate claim resolution. Your expertise will help people receive the support they need during unexpected life events.

What You'll Do

• Investigate and evaluate workers compensation claims to determine eligibility and appropriate benefit levels
• Review medical documentation, injury reports, and claim files with a keen eye for accuracy and completeness
• Communicate with claimants, employers, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to gather information and resolve claim questions
• Maintain organized claim files and ensure all documentation meets California workers compensation regulatory requirements
• Develop informed determinations on claim status and prepare clear documentation supporting approval or denial decisions
• Apply current knowledge of California workers compensation law to claim decisions and case management

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience as a workers compensation claims examiner or similar claims evaluation role
• Strong working knowledge of California workers compensation statutes and regulatory standards
• Excellent analytical capabilities with careful attention to detail and accuracy
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, for interactions with diverse stakeholders
• Proficiency with claims processing systems and standard business software
• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in insurance, risk management, or related field a plus
• Ability to independently manage multiple claims while meeting established timelines
