Physical Therapist Assistant

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sioux Falls is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant for a part-time position based in Parker, Turner County. Join our rehabilitation team and play an essential role in helping patients recover their mobility and independence.

The Opportunity

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at our rehabilitation hospital, you'll deliver direct patient care and support recovery from orthopedic surgery, neurological injury, and other acute rehabilitation needs. Working closely with licensed physical therapists and our interdisciplinary team, you'll execute treatment plans that produce real results—watching patients progress from injury toward greater independence. This part-time role offers the clinical depth of a hospital setting with scheduling flexibility.

Your Responsibilities

• Administer therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques under physical therapist supervision
• Document patient treatment sessions and track progress toward rehabilitation goals
• Assist patients with mobility training, transfers, and functional activities
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and communicate changes to the clinical team
• Maintain safe treatment environments and adhere to infection control and safety standards
• Support interdisciplinary care coordination and patient and family education

What You Bring

• Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license or certification (NPTA or state-equivalent credential)
• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant educational program
• Demonstrated skill in patient communication and clinical documentation
• Compassion for working with diverse patient populations across age groups and abilities
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development
• Ability to be reliable and flexible within a part-time schedule
