About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI research organization seeking Chemistry experts in France for a contract engagement. Our client develops high-quality STEM training data for advanced AI systems, and they need domain specialists who can design rigorous, computationally grounded problems that challenge modern models.

This is a remote, part-time contract role requiring 10-20 hours per week over an initial 2-month period, with potential for extension.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced chemistry problems that reflect real scientific and research workflows
• Create deterministic tasks with exactly one verifiable correct answer and complete verified solutions
• Develop reasoning-intensive problems grounded in computational rigor
• Implement solutions using Python and appropriate domain-specific chemistry tools or simulation packages
• Ensure all tasks are reproducible, technically precise, and clearly documented
• Write concise and rigorous technical explanations in English
• Focus on areas such as computational chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, or chemical engineering-adjacent workflows

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Master's or PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field
• Research or industry experience involving computational or quantitative chemistry workflows
• Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with scientific libraries
• Deep understanding of modeling, numerical approaches, and chemical reasoning
• Ability to design original, difficult problems that extend beyond textbook recall
• Excellent attention to detail and clear technical writing ability
• Fluency in English for technical documentation

Preferred experience:

• Background in computational chemistry, cheminformatics, spectroscopy analysis, or molecular modeling
• Experience with specialized chemistry software or simulation tools
• Professional chemistry workflows involving simulation or data analysis platforms
• Prior experience creating technical evaluation or assessment content
