About the Role
As a school-based Certified Occupational Therapist, you'll deliver direct therapeutic services and consultation to students with diverse learning and developmental needs. This full-time position runs for the duration of the school year at 30 hours per week, giving you stability and the chance to build meaningful relationships with your students and their families.
What You'll Do
- Conduct occupational therapy assessments and develop individualized intervention plans aligned with each student's IEP goals
- Provide direct OT services addressing fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care activities, and functional independence in academic and school settings
- Collaborate with special education teachers, general education staff, and school administrators to support inclusive learning environments
- Document student progress, maintain comprehensive clinical records, and communicate outcomes with school teams and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and progress monitoring to adjust interventions based on student response and growth
- Consult with teachers and staff on classroom accommodations, adaptive strategies, and environmental modifications
What We're Looking For
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapist (OT) with eligibility to work in US schools
- Valid Delaware or reciprocal state licensure (or ability to obtain)
- Experience working with school-age children and special education populations preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner effectively with educators and families
- Commitment to supporting students' functional and developmental goals in inclusive school environments
