About the Role
This position puts you at the center of Wells Fargo's mortgage retail operations, blending strategic sales leadership with direct team management. You'll oversee a dedicated team of Mortgage Retail Sales Consultants while championing the customer-focused, results-driven culture that defines our Home Lending division.
What You'll Do
- Coach, develop, and manage a team of Mortgage Retail Sales Consultants with focus on skill-building and performance excellence
- Direct sales activities, strategies, and daily operations to consistently meet or exceed lending targets
- Provide mentorship on residential mortgage products, underwriting processes, and compliance standards
- Oversee pipeline management and sales metrics to identify opportunities and drive business growth
- Partner with Home Lending operations and compliance teams to ensure seamless customer experiences
- Build and sustain a high-performing, motivated team culture in the Des Moines market
What We're Looking For
- Active SAFE certification (Loan Officer) or demonstrated pathway to obtain it
- Proven success managing sales teams in mortgage lending or related financial services
- Comprehensive knowledge of residential mortgage products, rates, terms, and lending guidelines
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Track record of exceeding sales goals and driving team performance
- Understanding of consumer lending compliance and regulatory frameworks
- Bachelor's degree preferred
