About the Role

Bridgewater College is seeking a dedicated and professional Campus Police Officer to maintain safety, security, and order across our campus and facilities. You'll be the visible presence our community depends on—responding to incidents, conducting investigations, and working proactively to prevent problems before they start. This position requires flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends as the campus operates around the clock.

What You'll Do

• Patrol campus grounds and facilities on foot and by vehicle to deter crime and respond to safety concerns
• Investigate reports of criminal activity, disturbances, and other incidents affecting campus safety
• Protect life, property, and institutional resources through vigilant observation and swift intervention
• Operate and maintain police equipment and communication systems
• Document incidents through written reports and maintain accurate records
• Identify and report safety hazards to appropriate departments
• Enforce applicable laws, ordinances, and college policies
• Provide assistance and support to students, faculty, and staff

What We're Looking For

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound judgment and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Commitment to professional ethics and community-oriented policing
• Prior law enforcement training or experience is valued
